Rumble

It's raining... really hard out there.
I'm huddled over my laptop in the attic.
Kind of scared the ceiling is going to collapse...

oh nooo!!

Princeton and Chicago This Weekend

I haven't had a chance to update the shows-listing, but my good friend and singer/songwriter Manny Garcia asked me to jump aboard to fill a headlining replacement at the benefit concert for Believe International (a Philippine non-profit) in Chicago on Sunday. So this weekend means a band show at Small World Coffee, in Princeton, NJ and then taking an early flight to Chicago on Sunday. Fun times, indeed!

Here's the Facebook event, if you can make Sunday's Chicago's show! www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=352590299372.

And here's the poster for Saturday's show in Princeton, NJ:

There should be a FB event coming up shortly for that... anyway, back to the daily grind that is my day job.

Beantown

I'm back from a weekend in Boston. Just to hang out and celebrate a friend's birthday.
That city is beautiful when it's warm.

Too bad that doesn't happen often.

The Rat and the Dog

I saw a dog kill a rat today
on the corner of Broadway and 78th
A duo of little gray things scurried away,
one met its fate: canine incisors
that refused to release him,
his mangled body contorted
gray and white fur awry.

The dog's owner tugged at his canvas leash,
"Let it go! Let it go!" he commanded
to no avail as the spectators stopped;
curious passersby;
New Yorkers deprived of wildlife on display.
The poor man was desperate now,
but likely because he was embarrassed.

Nobody concealed their horror
as the dog first let go the body,
now draining slowly of life.
Dropped on the unforgiving sidewalk.
The dog still would not leave.
Maybe he was scared, too?
Scared that the ghost of that ugly thing
would come to haunt him soon.

Slowly the crowd dispersed
and I walked, also, away.
We all left that unwanted creature cold,
lying lonely, dishonored on the pavement.
Lucky it was a rat, we think,
for we can't muster much sympathy for it.
The poor, sad little thing lay cold now.

Maybe to be buried soon
by a merciful garbage truck
or swept idly away.

Tomorrow is Pi Day!

Those of you who know me well, know how much I love Pi Day. :) Mostly because this song becomes relevant...

Whirlwind L.A. Trip and my music on anime!

Ahhh! Just got back from a CRAZY weekend at Kollaboration X, at The Shrine in L.A. I missed my flight in Friday night, so ended up rushing in on Sat. morning and going non-stop through rehearsals, practice with Mike Isberto, the show and the after party. Then I took a flight out the next day (yesterday) and got home a bit late. So So So terribly tired, but happy for this whirlwind weekend!
Here's a photo of me and Mike at the Red Carpet before showtime, taken by HypnoticAsia.

And here's one from onstage at the beautiful Shrine Auditorium.

In other news, I MUST share this video my friend Ish Baclay created, using the second verse from "Love as Tragedy" along with scenes from Ouran High School Host Club. Never had my music on anime before, so it's pretty cool!
